When I was 18 I dropped out of college because I got pregnant..?
Question:
Are their any grants or scholarships for people in my position? I work full time...
Answer:
Yes! Pell Grants are money that comes from the government that does not need to be paid back. The money is distributed on a first come, first serve basis and how much you get is determined by what college you are planning on attending and your yearly income.
You can also go to your colleges finanical aid office and ask them any questions you may have, they will have the answers.
Many people who work full time attend night classes, and usually at a community college. There cheap, small class sizes( meaning more individual attention), and alot of community colleges offer child care on campus.
There are many people out there in similar situations, so don't feel discouraged to go back to school or to ask question.
www.fasfa.com is the governement website that will get you set up with any grants or student loans
Good Luck!
Yes, apply for a Pell Grant and a Stafford Loan.
Your financial aid office can help you with other more local grants, scholarships, and loans.
I am assuming that you are a single mother. In which case, oh yes. There are organizations all over the place who help women in your situation. Also, the government is more than willing to give out loans for you to better yourself. Because a more educated mother produces better educated children, and that is the goal of society, right?
Try Fasweb.com for ideas. And, good luck.
In the South a store chain called Fred's offers money for people in your exact position. There are a lot of other grants and scholarships out there for single mothers trying to restart their college career. You just have to look for them. A good place to start would be your local college's financial aid office.
Good luck
absolutely you fit into the no. 1 most eligible category for aid. Just yo and see the financial aid councilor at your college and I am pretty confident they will be able to help.
