Whats a good college to go play soccer for?

Question:
Im going into freshman year of highschool next year and i have to say i dont want my soccer skills to go to waste even though i want to work as a police officer or in business. But what is a good college/ university to try to get a scholarship from? My family doesn't really have money to pay for Notre Dame (40,000 tuition) which is a really good soccer university. Should i try a community college first to get all the core classes done and then move on to a university or will it be too late? Its never to early to think about college =)

Answer:
You're very right that is never too early to think about college. I am in college now and wish that I had started my research at your age. Anyways, there are tons of universities with great soccer teams. One of my friends went to the State University of New York at Albany for the soccer team. The one frustrating thing about your situation is that you're not actually going to know about scholarship opportunities until much later in your high school career. The schools decide on a personal basis who gets scholarships and for what reasons. You could go to collegeboard.com to look up schools that would interest you and research how their soccer teams are. Or you could research schools that have good soccer teams and request information from them and write letters to admissions offices. It's never too early to get your name circulating in an admissions offices. You never know what could happen with that. They could keep you in mind and keep bugging you and maybe send a scout to come see you.
Good luck!
