College Female Model Pay Scale?
Question:
For instance:
Portrait ... $xx/hr
Swimsuit...$xx/hr
Lingerie...$xx/hr
Thong/Handbra...$xx/hr
I've searched the internet for some standard scale, but I could not find one.
Anyone know of a good starting point to determine these numbers?
Answer:
There really is no scale for modeling per se. The amount of money earned on any particular shoot depends upon many factors and I will list a few, but by no means all of them.
Where are they going to be published? How large is the magazines circulation? Will the photo be run more than once? Is it part of an ad campaign?
Each shoot is negotiated separately. If the model (or photographer) has an agent or representative, the billing will be higher for no other reason than to pay the reps percentage of the billing.
Most models will do TFP work with photographers to help build their portfolios. Usually there are at least five different photographers represented in a models book.
When I was in college I had no problem finding models for free. In a college environment you are exposed to many young minds just waiting for new experiences. Many are excited to help someone else with their means to an end. Most also are broke and understand that money is an issue. Money for posing was never even brought up. I was however willing to help in any way with the projects others were working on. Even college students respond well to honesty and are willing to help people. They also respond well to beer. ha ha
