Is it possible to still get a college degree and have a child?

Question:
I am 4 weeks along and i just found out i was pg, now my main concern is going to college, living on my own, working and paying bills. Do you think its possible to get a college degree and raise a child or is my futute ruined? i want to be a good mother for my baby but am scared!! i dont have barely any college done.

Answer:
Yes it's quite possible. Colleges have day care centers, so you certainly won't be alone.

You'll also find plenty of financial aid to help you attend college, so get your FAFSA filed before the end of February. File at www.fafsa.ed.gov Be sure to answer yes to the question about if you have a child.

Your future isn't ruined, unless you allow it to be. Focus on your goals, enlist the help of anyone who is willing to help you, and take care of yourself. Don't think about college as the fun place to vacation for 4 years. Instead, think of it as a means to provide a better life for you and your child.

Good luck!
NOTHING IS INPOSSIBLE IF U PUT YOUR MIND TO IT. Ask Bill Gates he dropped out of Harverd and i dont hear him complaining. I know plenty of people who have. good luck!
Yes it's possible..difficult.but very possible. You'll just have to take your time. To continue your college education is an excellant choice for your and your baby's future. Best of luck to you.
First take a deep breath. It is possible!
But it is going to be insanely hard to go full time to school. So the best suggestion is taking 1-2 classes a semester. this will be able to manage a full time job. but keep in mind this will extend graduation a few years but it is well worth it
Just be realistic. If you have to put on hold the education for a few years until the baby is bigger then that might be wiser, but if you decide to do both now then it won't be impossible. It will be hard but it can be done.Good luck. What's up with the dad?
sure just put your mind in it i know you can do it. work hard but dont over work.
Take a deep breath and start to do some thinking, OK? Ready?

It is possible to go to college, get a degree and raise a child. Is it easy? No! But then is going to college easy? No! Is raising a child easy? NO!!

This will take a lot of planning and organizing. Are you good at that? If not find someone who is and ask for help.

First you must think of the child.can you give this child a good, solid, stable home? Will you be putting the child's interest above all else? Are you ready to devote 18 years of your life to this child and are you willing to help in every possible way, shape and form? What can you give this child? You have to be very ready to put a few things on hold until such a time as you would be able to handle them.
Getting a degree while having a child, working to pay bills and living is difficult but not impossible. College will take extra time.time that at first you will not have. So if you can take a class here and there while raising a child and working it will help, but if not don't get discouraged. You can and will make it if you want it bad enough.

I raised six children on my own and got my degree just last year.
It took me nine years to accomplish something most people accomplish in four, but it was worth every sacrafice I ever made.
My children are almost grown and I can start working and doing the things that I love. I will now start living a life of my own. I don't regret waiting until I was 47 to start college.
I don't have kids, but I have known people who have gotten pregnant, had kids already, supported family and did better in college than singles like me. It all depends on how you approach things in your life. Good luck.
It is not hard at all. Your only real concern will be finding someone to watch you child while you are in class. Otherwise, having achild is actually beneficial to you. You will now be eligible for a lot more grant and loan money through the FAFSA. You will also be eligible for scholarships for single moms (if you are single), and you will prob be eligible for medicaid if your income isn't too high.
