I am so lost...what college is the best to attend?

Question:
I have a GPA of about a 4.4-4.5 and I applied to UCLA, UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, UCBerkeley, and USC. My major will be biochemisty and I intend on going to medical school. Overall, I enjoy learning yet I still go out and have fun (parties) but I don't like extreme situations. I do not drink/smoke/etc. Where do you think is the best place for me in regards to my major and lifestyle? Keep in mind I have to pay for all of my college costs so the cheaper the better? Thanks everyone!!

Answer:
From the sound of it, you're wanting to stay in Cali, right? Plus, since you've already applied to so many there, and ones with well known science and med programs, you're doing a good job yourself in deciding. Now once you get accepted into where ever, you need to research individual programs that work best for you. But in all honesty, with a GPA like that, although possibly too late at the moment, you could looking at even better schools. Harvard, Yale, Notre Dame, etc. You should talk to your counselor at your HS and look into that and scholarships for them.
Valparaiso University
As for your major, UCD would be great. UCLA is good too though, and may be more compatible w/your social life. (Davis is pretty boring) Good luck to you and nice work w/the high GPA! :)
I know UC San Diego has a very strong sciences dept. and is a great pre-med school. No matter where you go, there'll be drinking, but a lot of colleges have housing options where your entire floor will be sober. if you really want that... Compared to other private institutions, the California schools are fantastic regarding the cost of education
I would just start with the national rankings and move down the list until you find one you get into. UCB then UCLA then UCSD. The reputation will help a lot especially if you leave the state and try to get a job elsewhere.
