on the one hand its hard not to say, well no because they are getting a free education with free room and board but on the other hand, they see people making so much money off of their name and they dont see any of the profits, so i can understand the argument that in revenue sports athelets could get some kind of stipend. Yet that hurts the other sports and cuts their programs. So i think in the end you have to keep atheletes from getting paid and live with the occasional shady activities and hope the system keeps it in check

No way! Most of them aren't paying for school and they can get drafted and paid for their sport after college if they're really that good.

well i mean they shoudlnt be paid a large sum of money...afterall they are getting an education...but they could get maybe like a thousand dollars each symester or some small amount like that.

not nearly as much as professionals, but if they are talented and get good grades a decent salary is fair. college athletes cannot get a job because they deovte so much time to their sport, they should be given a salary something like what an average college student would earn otherwise. seems fair to me, they work very hard and are talented athletes.

no what else do you expect to give them they don't pay for school, housing, food, you name it they get it for free. College football and baseball to me they play the game with more heart then the pros. umm.in a single phrase...hell flippin no.as current student of a well known athletic university, i know for a fact that university college athletes are definitely not struggling...they get free tuition, boarding, and food..not to mention the "additional bonus'" such as scooters, free drinks at bars, free food at restaurants, cell phones, and sooo many other under the table things..they do not ever truly have any wants that are not met.if anything i think that academic overachievers should be paid..not that i dont like winning sports events...buut i value education and most (not all)of these athletes major in subjects that an ape could do well in
