Possibly going back to college? Seeking advice.?
Question:
Answer:
If you were able to get through life in the Navy, then you have what it takes for college. Most students do not find the course work of college challenging, in as much as the "balancing act" required to stay on course to getting the degree.
It also sounds like you have a lot more family support now then you did doing your first year, and a stable family situation will only help when you take on this challenge.
Based on the information you provided, I would advise you to pursue your dream of a degree in veterinary medicine.
Go for it, and look at the benefits.
Go for it, I was in the military from when I was 18 to 24. I did some school in there. Then when I got out I felt like I got a late start and didn't want to be in school. I went it was fun, and have a degree in electrical engineering now. So I would say go, you have the GI Bill, plus I know you are married but great place to meet people too
go for it. not having your parents pressuring you and trying to direct things for you will be a huge relief and make school a lot more enjoyable for you. you will probably regret later in life at some point for not trying to be something you want to be. why settle for less when you can be more.
I spent 12 years in the military and probably would have stayed in for another 12 years if I had not gotten injured. I got out of the military and floated around a couple of years trying to figure out what to do with my life. I decided to go back to college and it was the best decision I have ever made! I think I am enjoying college more now than if I went directly after graduating from high school.
Go for it. If you need to, keep working at the vet's office. It would help you in the long run because you would have the veterinarian(s) and other staff there to help you if you have any questions.
I'm not sure, but I would check to see If you were able to get any money for school from being in the Navy. I think that you get some kind of tuition assistance if you were in the service for at least 4 years.
While you are in school you can always talk to the college counselor and your academic adivisor about your concerns. I'm sure that they would be more than willing to help you out...especially if you upfront and honest about your past experiences.
Good luck!!
You should go for it.
If you haven't gotten your college degree by now, you will never. So you are just wasting your time and money by going back. It's time just to get on with your life and quit fooling yourself.
