Is $24,000 a decent or average starting pay for a college graduate in South Texas with a degree in marketing.?

Question:

Answer:
$24,000 Is an OK pay when your a college graduate. Its not a small amount, but it is a little bit on the lower side. But you can't expect you to get a lot of money a year right out of college. So to answer your question it's all right. It is lower than average, but it's still okay.
Seems awfully low
depends on what your job title is, but right now the market is pretty open, and that does seem a bit low. did you graduate with a "D" average or something?
That's barely $11.50 per hour. Entry level. Assuming you have a four-year degree and are pretty smart (can do well in an interview), you should be making no less than $50K... and even that seems low to me.
That sounds REALLY low. Are you going to be able to pay for housing, pay your bills, pay for a car, pay for food, pay your taxes, save money, and still have money left over?
This is $24,000 in South Texas, not New York City or Los Angeles. The person that said a college grad should be making 50K is insane and probably still in high school. Most college grads are happy to find a decent job. $24,000 looks damn good when you're working fast food.

My god, you people do not understand cost-of-living. You are paid $12 an hour in California for fast food because it costs so much to live there! I remember this girl made $24K a year in Washington DC and was sleeping with high-ranking officials to pay the bills. She got some attention for her blog.
No way. you should make at least 40K per year. remember that there are 2000 work hours a year, so divide 2000 into your annual salary and that is your hourly wage. Example: 24,000 divided by 2000 equals 12. People that work for fast food in so. cal make $12 an hour flipping burgers. You should start at least at $40,000 per year or that is $20 an hour.
