When my father died, I did not have Jesus...I only had myself. I struggled and struggled. I couldn't really trust anyone and I felt guilty, felt like a failure at times, and just lost.
It wasn't until I got low that Jesus brought me up. Jesus had the power to save himself but he instead chose to take on our sins, our concerns, our guilt, our offenses. Now thats love. What if Jesus said, "This cross is too much to bear." We would all be in serious trouble.
The bible says that "faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen." Don't give up on Jesus because he has not given up on you. He would not have delivered me out of my depressed state when my father died and just forget about you. God is not a respecter of persons. His love and grace is sufficient and spreads to everyone. God will never leave you or forsake you in spite of world around you. The Bible also says that he that is within us is stronger than in all the world. Look within yourself. If you have accepted Christ into your heart (Romans 10:13), then you have the gift that Jesus left you which is the Holy spirit. THIS IS the strength that lies within you.
Don't give up. If you don't make it, then I can't make it. So I tell you what...I won't give up on you. So stand strong because I may need you one day to encourage me. That means that you are more important than you know. Only the devil can hold you to depression and guilt. This is not God's intent for you. Rise out of your storm and into the rays of God's purpose for you. Seek the love and comfort of God before you begin to seek it in Man.
