I am a mother to be in two months, I want to start college asap, is it possible to get help too?
Question:
Answer:
Your first stop is filing with the Dept of Education for a Pell Grant. You can file online at www.fafsa.ed.gov
However, you must have your parents fill out their portion of the paperwork as well until you are 22 yrs old. Their income is taken in consideration. There are other grants and scholarship available in a variety of places. Check out apps.collegeboard.com This will help you find other money you may qualify for. Talk to a financial aid counselor at the college you want to attend.
I don't know of any scholarship that targets single moms living with their boyfriends.
I know you said you didn't want to do the loan thing, but there is always the option of a Student Loan, and if like you said don't want to go that route, I'm not exactly sure what you can do, you might could make an appointment with someone from your county, gov, anything like that, and ask them what you could do, i am sorry this isn't more help :( But I wish you the best of luck!
congratulations on your child. why didn't you wait until after college though. ask your school advisor to help with some applications to colleges.
I don't think you should go to collage yet . Wait till the he is born then wait 10 months befor collage. Are you exited hope you are.
