Are there college scholarships/grants available for middle aged women wanting to go back to school?

Question:
I would like to become an registered nurse. I would like to attend a junior college that offers a two year degree program for registered nurses.

Answer:
Their are special scholarships for older returning women. Talk to the financial aid office of the school(s) you want to attend.
yes they are because you are never to old to go back to school to get some more education
There are no colleges that are two years that offer a degree for becoming a registered nurse, only to become a nurse. To become a registered nurse, you need four years.
There are many scholarships for middle aged women wanting to go back to school. You can also be eligible for a scholarship based on different criteria. Below is a website that you can go to and fill out a profile and answer questions so that they can match you up for scholarships to apply to. Good luck and I wish you the best!
Actually if you graduated with a 4 year nursing degree, that would be a BSN (Bachelor of Science, Nursing). There is an RN program and LPN program available at most community colleges.

Definitely fill out the FAFSA. If you are a single parent, you will definitely get more financial assistance. And whoever said to ask the fin. aid office at your school was right on the money. Keep in mind, the earlier you apply for Fin. Aid in the year, the better chance you have of being awarded extra monies (FSEOG, for instance).

Good luck in your endeavors.
Two year colleges, many of them, offer RN programs. (The actual degree is an ADRN) They get paid most of what a bachelor nurse earns, but they have more patient care.

Decide where you are going to go to school, or narrow it down, and contact them. Financial aid is available through the government, and every college has an office that will be happy to walk you through the process if you simply ask. All college's also offer scholarships, or have them available through their financial aid office, that are specific to that school. Most of them have at least one or two scholarships that are for "non-traditional" students, which means anyone older than the average age of a freshman, etc. Also, many companies that are local to your area probably offer them. Talk to your boss, if you work, to see if your company does. Also, talk to an administrator at a local hospital to see if they offer any scholarships for locals (may require a promise to work for them). Other groups, like local Rotary Clubs, Elks, Moose, Lions, etc., also offer these scholarships.
Loans, grants, etc. are listed at the webpage below.
