Is it true that ssi pays for your college?

Question:

Answer:
Usually no it is not true. You may want to look into the PASS program though You may be able to work and set aside some or most of your wages to pay for a specific pre-approved goal. If your plan is approved by the SSA, the amount of your wages that you set aside will be exempt from SSI's computation of countable income; however, if you don't use the money exactly as you say you will in the plan, you will be hit with a huge overpayment. Contact your local SSA to see how to get stared with the PASS program. It is not an easy process, but it is worth it.
