Why do libs HATE free speech so very much?

WASHINGTON — Among other rights, the First Amendment protects satire and parody as a form of free speech.
But the Student Senate at the University of Rhode Island appears to have lost its sense of humor when it comes to the campus group College Republicans.
Earlier this week, a Student Senate committee recommended revoking the College Republicans' recognition as a school-sanctioned group because the group refused to apologize for a satirical advertisement that offered a $100 scholarship to a white, heterosexual, American male.
The advertisement ran last November in the student newspaper, the Good 5 Cent Cigar. Forty students applied for the scholarship, but it was not awarded to anyone because it was not meant to be serious, said Ryan Bilodeau, chairman of the College Republicans.
"We intended that the scholarship was a satirical protest on the [University of Rhode Island's] many scholarships based on race and gender," said Bilodeau.

Because they LOVE their own speech so much, that they only want to hear that exclusively.

I'm a liberal and I don't hate free speech. You are talking about a handful of people who were offended by a joke. Not everyone feels that way. They are entitled to say what they want, without apology. Just like you are. I really hate generalizations and wish you people would grow up. Not everyone is a left or right wing whacko. I see no mention of liberals. What does this have to do with liberals? Second, the 1st amendment applies to the federal government limiting speech. No mention of the federal government. I guess you do not believe in the constitution as written and make it up as you go along.

if the liberals are so much against free speech, why did the REPUBLICAN CONSERVATIVES pass the patriot act, which removes many freedomms guaranteed under the consttution. such as the guarantee of NOT BEING SEARCHED AND SEIZED WITHOUT A WARRANT? or don't you need those freedoms? READ THE PATRIOT ACT, AND SEE WHAT BUSH DID TO YOUR FREEDOMS NOT TO HAVE YOUR PHONE, YOUR LIBRARY RECORDS, AND EVEN YOUR BANK ACCOUNTS, SEARCHED WITHOUT A WARRANT!
at least those pesky liberals tried to stop it, but failed, when the REPUBLICAN CONSERVATIVES GAVE BUSH WHATEVER HE WANTED WITHOUT EVEN READING THE PATRIOT ACT BEFORE PASSING IT ON A PARTY LINE VOTE. ALL REPUBLICANS VOTED TO PASS IT, NO DEMOCRATS DID. BUSH GOT WHAT HE WANTED- AND HE HAS USED IT TO DESTROY ALL OPPOSITION TO HIS CRIMINAL ACTS, AND THOSE OF HIS PARTY LACKEYS!
he should be impeached and thrown in prison, IN SYRIA, like he does with other nations' citizens even when they ARE NOT terrorists.
