What is the benifit of taking prerequisites for college-level classes?
Question:
Answer:
I presume you mean that you are taking the prerequisites
while still in High School, right?
The advantage to taking them in High School is that you
can avoid having to take them (and *pay* for them) when
in college. By putting them off, you might delay your
college graduation (ie. have to take an extra semester
or even year to get your degree).
what kind of pre-reqs? the benefit is that you can take the class you are wanting to. if you don't have the pre-reqs required, then you can't take the class. ie: algebra II -- pre-req is algebra I. You can't take II if you haven't taken I. But, not sure this is what you are asking.
they give you the basic information and tools that you need in order to understand and succeed in a course. It allows higher level courses to be higher level courses, you can start off at a more advanced point of knowledge as everyone will already have an understanding of the underlying principles involved.
The benefits are that you will be successful in the classes. How do you expect to be successful in a college level algebra class when you haven't taken basic math? Yes, you are paying for college, but that is even more reason to take prerequisites so that you don't waste your money and fail the class.
