Question:
I will be 17 by the time I would graduate early. I will have more than enough credits by my junior year, and find my senior year as going to be a waste. I want to attend a college to become an Elementary Teacher. I've already done some practice teaching (tutoring 1-on-1, and teaching a whole class) and I am positive it's the job for me. I love kids, I love teaching. At college, I also plan to spend the majority of my time in Wellness Housing (smoke/alcohol/drug-free), in order to live a more positive and healthier life style. I currently volunteer at an Elem. School and with a Substance Abuse Prevention program, both working with kids.
i am confident. i am ready to do this. all i need to know what are others pros and cons to early college life?
also, if any scholarship search websites are known, i'd love to have them, too.
thanks!
Answer:
The con of early graduation is maturity level. Are you mature enough and have enough discipline to attend college? Are you ready to sacrifice? Your friends will be in high school and you will be in college with new people and experiences and your friends will not be able to relate.
The pro is you may graduate a year early from college.
Your high school counselor has scholarship info or you can also contact your future college financial aid officer.
Ther are no cons-- except that your friends will be jealous-- get out of HS as soon as you can and you'll get to start your life and career ahead of all ofyour friends.
If you stay through your Sr. year it would be a waste on time, IMO.
