Question:
Okay so I know Ill be approved because I already applied I am in the process of changing schools though I havnt even started college yet.
anyways- Do I pay financial Aid back?
Do they send you checks everymonth? if so do those need to be paid back?

Answer:
Depends on the type of financial aid.
Scholarships-do not have to pay back
Grants-do not have to pay pack
Loans-HAVE to pay back
The different provider of financial aid will pay it differently. Some pay to you, some pay to the school. Some pay to you in the name of the school.
Depends on the form of financial aid. Grants and scholarships, you do not pay back. Loans you do.
depends on your package. some of it might be grants and some of it may be loans
Is it a loan? Yes, you pay back loans.
Is it a grant? No, you don't pay back grants.

They usually send you one check, and you use that to pay for that year's tuition and books.
There are grants (which do not have to be paid back) and loans (that do). there are also scholarships. Ask your college to help you apply for all of them. Good luck.
financial aid sends check quarterly written out to the schools name. they do need to be payed back. but the first payment is not due until after you graduate.
Financial Aid if not pegged as a loan is free. Read the fine print and ensure to ask appropriate questions. Goodluck.
You will receive some money that you won't have to pay back, the rest will be a loan which you have to start payment approximately 6 months after graduation from College. They do not send you checks, they pay the school, the school deducts tuition, books, housing etc. anything left over the school refunds you.
Hope this was helpful.
Grants and Scholarships you do not pay back. But loans you do. Most schools will out your tutition from you financial aid at the beginning of each term and then they will either mail you a check for the rest or do a direct deposit into a back account. When you fill out of FASFA you can check if you are interested in loans or just grants and I'm pretty sure that you have to check with the school to find out info on scholarships.
When you apply for financial aid, you will receive a GRANT (known as a Pell Grant), which DOES NOT have to be repaid, or some sort of a LOAN, which you WILL have to repay, but not until AFTER you complete college, or drop out (which you should not do anyway).
Some financial aid comes in the form of grants. These you do not have to pay back. Loans... no matter what kind they are... you will have to pay back, but the payments will be deferred until after you graduate. As for how you receive them - the funds are usually dispersed directly to your school who will apply the money towards what you owe them for your semester. If there is any left, they will cut you a check. This happens once every semester.

Hope that helps. Good luck in school, too!
Depends if it is a loan or a grant.

A loan needs to be paid back. though certain loans have no interest till u graduate.
Grants don't need to be repaid.

The Financial Aid package is paid to the school directly and applied towards tuition and room. It is rare to get more aid than you need for school... but I do remember getting a check for $1500 once as money towards my books, etc.
That depends on what kind you get. You have to pay back loans after graduation in most cases - there are some exemptions for certain instances, such as serving in the military or nursing in certain areas.. Grants and work-study do not have to be repaid.
Like # 1 said- grants and scholarships are yours, all others get paid back. They usually send you one large check at the beginning of the semester (that may depend on the school). You can choose to make payments while in school (helps with interest) or you can wait to pay back anything until 6 months after you graduate (helps if you have no money to spare).

My advice to you...be careful what you borrow. Interest rates are a killer now! If you owe too much in the end...it will take you FOREVER to pay back. (Unless you 're one of the lucky ones that ends up rich after college).
If you mean Pell Grants, no, you don't pay them back. The government pays it to your school and your school applies it to your total tuition and other payments. If there is a surplus after all fees are paid the school sends you a check at the end of the semester. It's your money to do with as you please and you don't have to pay it back.

You also don't have to pay back scholarships.

If you mean loans, yes, you always have to pay back loans. Subsidized loans just means the interest is paid for by the government while you're enrolled in college. Once you've graduated, or drop out, you have to start paying it back.
The only thing in finacial aid that you will need pay back is loans. Grants you do not need to pay back, work study you don't need to pay back, scholarships you don't need to pay back. Only loans. If you take out a loan then you have to pay those back. You will not receive a check for grants and scholarships...they go directly to the school. Work study depends on what school you go to. Some you can choose to make it go to your college tuition...or you can get a check for your personal use. Loans usually go straight to the school...these include stafford loans, perkins loans.basically federal loans. Most other loans go directly to the school, however there are a few out there that are not federal that you might possibly receive a check to you...however for college tuition it is unlikely. Hope this helps and good luck
Depends on the kind of loan.pell grants you don't have to pay back. Loans you do. I'm paying back my $18000 loan (I went to a small private college) by paying them $115 a month, and I can pay them for up to 10 years. Good luck!
As they said, loans = pay back

grants / scholarships = free.
