How much is college in the US?

Question:
I am talking about the average cost. Going to a big University in the same state as the child grew up in. I have not even had a child or am planning on it but my parents are in a bind trying to pay for my college so I want to know what is the best way to pay for it. I was thinking save $162 every month until the child is born and you would have $35,000 but that is my guess on what it is going to cost.

Answer:
If your talking about a state school that could work, some states (maybe all, not sure) have a thing where you can pre-pay for your child's education way ahead of time. it would get you into the big state school but not private ones.

it also likely would work out if you invested it well.

but all that only takes into account TODAYS education costs. if it skyrockets.. u know.
Depending on where that should cover about a year and a half.
a lot of money
cheap enough for republicans' kids and expensive enough for democrats' kids to enlist in the military to afford it.
