Do I still pay child support while she attends college?
Question:
Answer:
read your divorce decree..my ex pays his $37.50 per week until they are 21
You should if you can still do that, but I don't thing you're legally obligated to. But if your daughter is not able to fully pay for her own college then I think it makes sense for you to assist if it's not too much of a burden on you.
As long as she is in college, you will pay until she is 21.
Your divorce decree should spell this out exactly. Most include som period of time beyond high school as long as they stay in college
Depends on what you agreed to. She needs your support to go to college. You fathered her, remember?
No. I'm on the opposite end. My son is in college. support stopped when he turned 18 . if he was 18 in high school, it would have kept going until he graduated high school. Check your divorce decree...it will tell you in there.
It depends on the laws in your state. In some states, child support automatically ends at 18. In others, it goes until 19 or 21. In almost all states, you have to ask the Court's permission to stop paying your child support, regardless of the child's age.
your divorce decree and the laws of your state decide what you HAVE to do! -- After that, you help your daughter as you see fit! Not the mama!
It depends on what your divorce papers state. You might want to drag them out and have a look. Mine states that child support ends at age 18, unless they are a full time student, then it ends at age 22.
