You are at the perfect time to start searching for scholarships which can lower the cost of the college tuition and housing fees. Unfortunately, it is almost impossible to get the amount you need in student loans without your parents help because in some cases you need a cosigner. I also recommend your parents signing up for Upromise because it can help with college but in a smaller amount. I will include some free resources to locate money to attend college.
First, the college's financial aid office and website has a list of private scholarships offered from outside organizations and companies. Sometimes a college major's website will list scholarships, too.
Second, the public library has a book listing scholarships with some not even listed on the web.
Third, the high school guidance office has a list of local scholarships and state scholarships & grants.
Fourth, a campus work study job can help with money needed during the school year. The program is funded by the federal government. It will be a job on campus and most times can work to your availability schedule. There should be a box on the FAFSA form for it.
Fifth, fill out the FAFSA form after January 1 of your senior year of high school. It will qualify her for need based financial aid from the federal government and the school itself. It will come in the form of scholarships, Pell Grant, student loans, and the work study program.
Sixth, study and practice for the SAT or ACT tests. It can help bring merit scholarships from the college itself.
Seventh, states do offer grant and scholarships for students with excellent grades. Search Google.com and Yahoo.com for these grants and scholarships with your state's name.
Finally, I recommend joining several free membership scholarship search websites. There are scholarships for a variety of things including ethnicity, clubs, hobbies, and even wearing duct tape to the high school prom. Most are updated on a regular basis. Most offer a customized search based on information entered onto a form on the website.

Hello i think that you need choose any of those ways but for my own I think that you can save a lot of money and start some travel after I love travel but for this you need money so save if you are closer take a bike and go there every day and check how much expend people that is so far and start to save this amount and use your own home like your operation place and then talk with your family about your interest for travel and if you can take one train pass for a month you can visit very interesting places expending a little part of money.
Well basically the choice is going to be yours to stay home and be under mom's thumb or strike out on your own. I just have the feeling that if you stay home you are going to be miserable and resent your mom because she guilted you into staying. It is hard for us mom to cut the apron strings and let our kids go out and experience the world and college is a great way to do it. As for scholarship and financial aid talk to your school counselors. They should be aware of some scholarships that are available for you. Also do some research in your major area, you should be able to find some there. (ie nursing, www.discoverynursing.com). Good luck and whatever you decide remember it was the best decision for you.
You already said you would like to go farther away, so now it's a question of whether or not you are willing to take out student loans to do so. As someone who chose the stay-at-home route, I'd say get out there and do it because it's probably now or never. What do you think you can deal with in the future - paying back loans or regret about not traveling when you had the time? As for convincing your mom, focus on the virtues of your chosen school. Tell her how much better it would be than the local school.
