Scholarships May 2007?

Question:
Hi. My daughter will be attending college this fall. She will major in chemical engineering. Does anyone know of any Scholarships for her? She's really smart. 4.02, ACT Score 30, ranked #5!!! Community involvement, part-time job, church, family, friends, dogs. Help? Thanks everyone.

Answer:
At this moment, you missed a bunch of scholarship, scholarships from the college, and some state grant deadlines. Some states do reward good grades, but most likely the deadline has passed (still search Google.com and Yahoo.com just in case). Your best chance is to join several free scholarship searches because deadlines are fast approaching. I also recommend filling out Upromise and FAFSA. Next year, FAFSA must be completed sooner. Good luck!
Check with the college/university she is going to. Usually they will have college/university scholarships, mine does. I also like to use FastWeb. It's reallly thorough. She should try it.
I would assume that the college she is thinking of attending has several scholarships to offer for someone of your daughter's caliber. If you are looking for a career-wise scholarship, however, check with any government agency that employs engineers! I know for a fact that MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) offers full-paid scholarships to bright students going into any type of engineering, provided they work for MSHA for two years. It's a wonderful organization, so I would definitely check it out: http://www.msha.gov/
wow the deadline is kind of late, doesn't any of the organizations she is in give her awards?
