Does the minimum income policy to live in an apartment building change if someone else is paying the rent?

Question:
I'm moving to another city to attend college so my parents will be paying my rent along with bank loans. The apartment building I would like to move into states in their policy that my income must be three times the rent. Meaning to rent a $1,400 per month studio I must make $4,200 per month. I will not be working (just interning) so will I still be able to move there?

Answer:
Since your parents are going to be paying the bill, I would think the apartment owner would look at "their" income rather than yours.
