For conservatives against social programs, you didnt use or are using financial aid to pay for college?

Question:
i find it hypocrtical how conservatives wine and complain about programs but continue to use (as well as benefit) from them at the same time.

Answer:
I agree I think the complaints come from the simple fact that they make way too much money to benefit from the programs but it still comes out of their taxes. It's just not having the decency to want to help the less fortunate.

TLjaguar-I don't see how welfare and food stamps are different from financial aid. They are both programs that help the have-nots. So are you saying the poor can go to college but they can't eat?

I think maybe some of you should try and see how easy it is to put yourself thru school, pay your bills, get transportation, survive all with a minimum wage job, if you can get hired. What if your parents were suddenly no longer able to provide for you and there was no one else who could. What if there were no foster care homes or adoption agencies? Do you really think the world would be better off or would your pockets just be fatter? Not everyone who seeks assistance is a lazy good for nothing. Everybody can't be rich it's not possible. That doesn't mean that the ones who aren't don't deserve chances at life.
I am attending a state University and I am not taking any financial aid. But there is also a difference between financial aid and programs like welfare and food stamps
I have used a loan but unlike many democrats, I am paying it back.
Hell...I wish I could get financial aid (apparently I make too much and they don't take into consideration they massive debt I accumulated)...instead I get student loans which are REALLY starting to add up! Have to drag out school as long as possible because I am dreading having to pay those back!
Actually no, I did not qualify for financial aide. I did receive and repay several student loans. I am not against social programs to those who truly need them either.
I got no college funding for college. neither did alot of my friends, everyone I know is graduating with alot of loans. I've never had any benefit from a social program. I also am only 22 and have already started saving for retirement since your social programs will have completely drained social security before I need it.
Nope - I put myself through college - by working. No one helped me pay for a cent of it - though my parents did help out with laundry and meals and transportation, for which I am eternally grateful to them...

Working - a foreign concept to liberals... people who work for a living should be taxed to within an ounce of their skin, right liberals?
Financially aid for college only gives 2500 from the government you have to pay the rest your self
I dont benefit from any government programs, I am paying for them.
Only a liberal could assume it takes government loans to educate a conservative.
