College degree question.?

Question:
Hello,
I am about to enter a community college and get an associates in network administration. If i get above a 3.0 gpa I am guarnteed to a college from a list of schools ( some of which are pretty good). My plan is to get my associates and then follow through with a bachaleors.
My question is,
-is it really that much easier to get a good paying job with a degree?
-Also, Could I just get a good paying job with just the associates and skip the bachaleors?
-Also, what is a ballpark figure for a network admin?

Answer:
Be the best at what you do and you'll make plenty of money. If you can't be the best or want to hedge your bet, get the bachelors degree.

Regular run-of-the-mill network admins in a corporate setting will make about $100,000. Good network admins can make a lot more servicing multiple clients in consulting arrangements. The best network admins make a kick-*** product and sell it to customers for millions.

If you're the best, you don't really need a degree, just the kick-*** idea and perservance to realize it. If you're run of the mill, you'll need a degree to be taken seriously when your resume shows up at the door.
The answers are: no, no, and poverty.
You could get a good paying job, but not right away. You'd probably get an entry level job and have to work your way up to something you could immediately apply for with a B.A.
I wouldn't know about the salaries.
Not an easy field to get a job in, trust me I'm doing the same thing. If you go to dice.com or monster.com (job sites), you'll see that not only do they want guys with a Bachelor's degree and 3-5 years experience, but they also want people who have been trained and are certified in MCSE and CCNA.

Once you graduate, be prepared to enter the workforce in an extremely entry level job and stay there for the first 3 years or so. Try to make extra time to take some MCSE or CCNA training while you're in school. The classes for each one last about a year each, then you have to go take the tests. Again, just be prepared to wait for a good job after you graduate. The market is flooded.
It is easier to get a real job with a degree. I find that most ligitiment jobs will not even interview without an associates degree. The chances are you will not start out making a lot of money with an associates degree however its all about advancement with a company. Many companies will even pay for you to go back to school and get your bachelors degree (I receieved this offer as well). My brother has a bachelors in network admin., he can't find a job in it at the moment it is highly competitve right now (at least in Philadelphia).
Nope, it's not easy to find a job with a degree. Especially in your field, there is tons of competition. I have a friend with a BS in Computer and Info Systems Management (or something like that). We graduated in May and the only thing he landed was a temp job. And that took him about 2 months to find.
Get your Bachelor's degree. You're part of a generation where college has become normalized. more of us are going to college, so there is more competition.
