N.C. E.C.U. College tax question?

Question:
If an adult is paying for her own apt. and living expenses and she will be filing taxes, but the parents are paying for her college tuition and books , can they claim these expenses on their taxes for a deduction?

Answer:
That's a good question and the short answer is I have no idea. The IRS has a pretty extensive web site. You should be able to find out there. www.irs.gov

I was just there the other day reading about college related tax stuff.
