Is this acceptable to you?

Question:
Why is it socially acceptable for other races to call whites whatever they want but if a white person uses a derogatory term theyre automatically labeled a racist? And dont give me that crap about years of oppression giving some sorta "right" unless the person saying the comment actually had a whip on theyre back i dont think it should apply
Also why is it ok to have all these clubs and groups and college scholarships which only accept black people? if this was reversed and it was white only there would be so much hell raised about it but because its for blacks nothing is done about it? what gives?

Answer:
Thank you.
ur right thats screwed up but i guess thats the way it is
i know, i can't stand it. us white people should pitch a fit because of it. somebody write to the president
finally
No, it's racist. You need to read more.

This statement is wrong:
"And dont give me that crap about years of oppression giving some sorta "right" unless the person saying the comment actually had a whip on theyre back i dont think it should apply"

Institutional racism survives slavery.

And racism isn't even restricted to "whites" over blacks.

But, black people, people of color, have been categorized by society as inhuman based on the color of their skin. That categorization is wrong, but they have been labelled as such. They have every right to rebel. So-called "white" people do not.
Yeah I understand where you are coming from. It's too bad that they can't give scholarships, loans, and even jobs to people based on what really matters rather than the color of their skin. I wouldn't want preferential treatment just because I'm a woman, I don't believe I am entitled to anything and I don't think anyone should be given something just because of their race, sex, religion, etc. I think when they make exceptions like that they are encouraging friction, anger, and outrage between different groups of people. It's very sad that we can't all just be equal.
Um there did use to be college clubs and groups with privileges where whites were the only members.. it's called pre1960s!

Anyways, are you trying to tell me that the word "craker" has a much more derogetory condentation (and insult) as would the word "negro" to an african-american?

Pull your head out of your butt and try to be a little bit more sensitive to other cultures instead of playing the "how 'bout me" card.
Because whites put themselves in that position. Whites for years since the beginning of American history have oppressed many other races and ethnicity's. You cannot deny that. Now that the tables have turned, you seem to have a problem with it. Well "get over it". Whites have been racist for years and now that that type of behavior is catching up with them, something is said about it? I don't have to have a whip applied to my back to feel the strain and hurt that blacks and other minorities have felt in this country. It is evident in society itself. You are the type of person that has an issue with affirmative action, I'm assuming. But how can you blame a culture for focusing in on their own people and working towards promoting their success when for years the norm has been for that culture to live in defeat and not succeed. Whites to this day still have more and better opportunities than minorities so what we are trying to do is fix or clean up the mess that white people made in the first place.
The short answer to the first sentence is that because whites are the majority, racial slurs are not nearly as damaging. The common racial stereotypes of minorities tend to be very negative, while majority stereotypes tend to be positive. To "make fun of" white people does not do nearly the damage to an individual that "making fun of" other races does, because there isn't as much to be insecure about in the context of commonly held beliefs. It's naive to think that simply because white folks no longer openly carry whips that this oppression has disappeared and is meaningless.

Don't you think years of oppression should count for something? The theory is that these "years of oppression" have created a climate of racism that runs quite deep and therefore requires some positive action on our part to make up for it and countervail it.

Does anyone believe that racism is no longer a serious problem? Only racist people could believe such nonsense.
Quite simply, as a white male in America you have no business whining about anything. Those groups were formed out of necessity because of the exclusionary groups which already existed. Racism is still real. That is a sad fact, but it is a fact. I think you just proved it.
Why is it ok to have all these clubs and groups?....hehheh

You revealed your own ignorance, no suprises there, racists are predictably super stupid.
Get some sense of history in ya head
Just as there were atrocities committed on blacks in time deep in the past, similar atrocities are being committed in the name of affirmative action in the present times. We have a very horrible experience of affirmative action in India where in the name of it a certain group of people are branded as forward communities and are denied equal opportunities in jobs, schooling, business, politics and every basics for survival. The worst part of it is that it started as oppressed group's rights but later passed into oppressor's hands who isolated a small group as the 'real' oppressors. In the name of so-called social justice these oppressors for centuries put the entire blame on a particular small minority group called brahmins and identified themselves also as oppressed. In fact more than the brahmins it is these middle communities which perpetrated attrocities on the really oppressed ones. This in short is the story of the biggest fraud commited in India called affirmative action/reservation. I hope this does not happen to the whites in course of time because u too have half whites, browns etc amongst u who can call themselves racially oppressed and ask for affirmative action. Beware.
you got good points dude.
You're right, but it doesn't bother me at all.
