How can a 45 yr old woman get scholarships for college?

Question:

Answer:
Depending on your income level, you can apply for the pell grant and possibly go to school for free. Other than that I don't know of anything else. It seems most other scholarships are for young people just out of high school. Some work places offer tuition assistance so you might check into your current employer.

PS: Don't pay any attention to those first two posters you have. Obviously they are young and have no idea when entails being an older, non traditional student. I am 43 now and went back to college back in 2001 and got a degree. How good your grades are doesn't matter if you graduated from high school back in the 70's.
maybe great results?
Or just daydreaming about it?
The same way anoyone gets one, by competing for them with brain power. Good luck.
Umm try going to collage for adults
Do you have an outstanding GPA? Then just apply for financial aid. Your age will not be an obstacle.
I was around 50 when I received financial aid for my M.A. Both my undergraduate GPA and my GMAT were high and they were glad to have me.
Ignore the negative posts. I have heard from many of my instructors how much they value the adult student as we are more "into" school plus we bring in life experience. I am in a masters program now and every year I apply for FAFSA (on the web and it is free through the official FAFSA site) then look for scholarships in the financial aid office bulletin board. Many of them are degree specific or require a certin GPA. Best of luck to you, I think you'll do great!!
Hello Highly Blessed, your determination is one of a kind and don't get discouraged by lesser minds. There's the story of an Italian 97-year man who went sat for school examinations just to realised the dream of his life.Friends may discourage you but the results will depend on you.
Try sites like;http.//.wwwFastweb or http://www.humba.org you may perhaps come up with some information on the type of scholarship for you. Some establishments give in- service sponsorship depending on your area of interest. so why don't you start with you work place where applicable Just wishing you the very best, and don't give up your dream.
There are a lot of different scholarships and grants out there for women in different states. You may have to contact the state (not sure of which department) and see if the state you live in has an option. Also, if you are in college or know which college you will be going to, you can check with them on options that you have. They might have some ideas since that is what they are getting paid to do. You can also talk with some other students who have gotten a lot of student aid, since they are getting aid and you are wanting aid it makes sense to do what they did, if that makes sense. Good luck and have a great time studying.
Have you tried FastWeb or Humba!?
