Where can I find good information on scholarships and/or grants?

Question:
Less than a week after turning 30, I will be returning to college. Obviously, it has been quite a while since I have really had to worry about finding funding for school. Where can I find money?

Answer:
whatever college you are looking to, they will have financial aid sites. I go to Maryland and just search in the site box "scholarships" and lots of links will show up. And if youre looking to grad schools, just make sure you read the fine print on the grants and stuff, to make sure it can apply for graduate schools.
it's never too late to go back I think. Good job on taking the initiative and good luck!

Grants are need-based. You might want to try scholarships since it sounds like, with a car payment and whatnot, you may not qualify for a lot of grants.

But in order to find out what you qualify for, you'll need to fill out the FAFSA here:
http://www.fafsa.ed.gov

It will tell you loans and grants.

The best place to look for scholarships, which you also don't have to repay, is
http://www.fastweb.com
because you can create a profile and it will search the database for scholarships you're eligible for.

Also contact your school's financial aid office because they can give you more state-specific information.

Best of luck!

99% of all financial aid comes from the federal government, the state you live in and the school you are attending...the other 1% is through scholarships provided by countless private organizations. Fill out your FAFSA and do not spend too much time chasing that additional 1%.
Salliemae loans lets you study and pay your loans six months after you graduate. In your case it could lend you up to 100k. For more info go to salliemae.com. To search for a scholarship fitted to your profile got to fastweb.com
More than half the time, scholarships aren't used. They are then returned to whoever put them down in the first place. What you want to do is to search google "[a thing you're good at] scholarships" example: soccer scholarships

As for government scholarships, they are generally more strict. You need to have won many awards and stuff like that, so they generally won't do any good.
