How much will you owe for college, How did you pay, Loans etc. Can you give me advice?
Question:
Answer:
I had an entrance scholarship, bursaries and a student loan.
Study hard to earn a full or partial scholarship, apply for all bursaries for which you are eligible, work during your summer's off and save every penny possible. A student loan should cover the rest.
Working on campus while in college is also a great help. I initially had a part time job off campus, but then switched to a campus job which was much more convenient in terms of location and hours.
I deferred my loan payments briefly (it was put on hold without accumulating interest for a predetermined period) until I settled into a good job and was firmly on my feet. It took about 5 years of monthly payments to completely pay it off.
p.s. I disagree with the above answer. If your parents earn above a certain amount, then you will not be eligible for a student loan. Student loans are for those whose parents cannot help them out.
The 'GI Bill' paid all of mine with a few little costs for books & registrations. Student loans are for student doctors/lawyers & those Ivy Leager rich folks. If you want to get an education without a lot of expenses, get into the Armed Forces!
