Which is better? Quickbooks or Peachtree program.?

Question:
I want to start a bookkeeping business. I bought QuickBooks pro advisor program but it was too complicated. Should I stay with QuickBooks or try to learn Peachtree. I am also looking for a mentor. If anyone can help, I would very much appreciate it.

Answer:
My company has been using QuickBooks for several years and are getting ready to convert to Peachtree. Since you intend to use the software for a bookkeping business I would definitely recommend the Peachtree over QuickBooks. Here are my reasons:

1) Peachtree uses GAP accounting and will either not allow for an entry that violates GAP or notify you of the error which is essential in a bookkeping business. QuickBooks will allow all types of accountig errors. You wpn't have an easy time locating them once they've posted.

2) Peactree pricing on both Software and Suppport are a much better value.

3) QuickBooks technical support can be a nightmare unless you're paying for the highest level of support. Even then you may or may not get a technincian that can assist you with the problem. It's pretty much hit and miss with them.
