How to explain a resume that shows multiple jobs for short periods of time due to a spouse as a Traveling RN?

Question:
My wife decided to join a traveling RN program quite a few years ago, she has since gotten her fill of this along with the age increase of our children. I was a tag along at that point with her. I had management jobs in retail and even became a Licensed Financial Advisor. The problem is, the terms of her contract were short lived in certain places, so this shows on my resume as such. How do I get the opportunity to explain this to perspective employers?

Answer:
Hello - I believe that you should tell it as you did on here - the truth! you have done a great job :)
This would be a perfect thing to put in your cover letter. Normally, I wouldn't say to put something like that in the cover, but in this case, it will make ALL the difference and explain it before they look at the resume and place it in a "pile". Keep it simple of course, just after your opening sentence stating interest say something like "After many years of supporting my wife's travel career, she has chosen to work locally, allowing us to settle into this community permanently."
In my opinion the explanation is only called for if an interview is received. Otherwise, the job description was basically the same wasn't it? Lump all the years of traveling together and
support them with the job description. Family needs is the present priority. You both need 2B a little more stable and available now. (bring that out in the interview) Don't over-think this! If you're good at your profession you won't have as many problems as you are anticipating.
