It seems like the majority of benefits that Mac offers are available on PC, but with makeup?

Question:
I've been researching macs for the past few days, as my g.f. wants to buy one. Most of their claims (e.g., digital entertainment software that is totally revolutionary is the same as pc version--but prettier and dubiously more usable, iphoto crap that is as good as any freeware) are exaggerated claims available on pc. My g.f. argues that they don't get malware, but she plans to put windows on her machine. She says they're effortless, but she is talking about the woes of not being able to run certain programs on it.
Also, I've noticed that (especially with ipod) their products place design before ergonomics (I'm studying to be human factors engineer and have had discussions with my advisor about this).
Here's the question: why should she buy a mac?

Answer:
If she puts Windows on one partition of her machine, she should not use that partition to go on the Internet or for her mail. That should be done on the OSX partition. That way she will stay safe. The Windows section is fine for those computer games that are favourites but not yet on Mac.
Basically Macs are faster, safer, easier to use. Safari is the fastest browser on the web by far. The iMac with the 20" screen is not only beautiful but marvellous for working with, as you can open two or three applications side by side. Great for translating from one language to another, and a mass of other uses. The stability of the system and the fact that Macs quite simply work, and new software works immediately is something quite unknown in the PC environment, where one often has a great struggle to set up new programmes, problems with drivers etc. When I hear the constant troubles my friends have with their PCs, or when I see how often XP collapses when I go to internet cafés, I realize how sensible it was to have a Mac.
You may pay more for one, but it will last you longer, you will get far more work done on it without crises just at the moment you have to deliver that contract, and you won't have to waste the money saved on the PC by buying more protection, anti-virus updates etc. And you know your peripherals will work with your Mac when you update your system, unlike all those people who have to renew everything when they update from XP to Vista. I have read so many complaints too from people who have gone back to XP because they have had so many problems with Vista. This just doesn't happen with Macs. I got my machine with OSX.4.7. and it now runs perfectly on OSX.4.9. after two upgrades done by Apple automatically from the net. I have Apple's guarantee that when the radically new OS Leopard comes out in October, it will run fine on my iMac. It's a different world from PCs, in which one gets the impression that PC people are just masochists who should get a life. Maybe they just like staying up to 4 a.m. reinstalling their systems that have broken down, and then going to work at 6 a.m., but there are few women around who appreciate such burdens. Or they get the b.f. to do it for them!
