Does doing a residency in the south really diminish my chances of landing up with a job in New England?

Question:
I will be starting my psychiatry residency in June this year and as might be obvious, I am not from the states. I want to settle in the New England region eventually but have a bunch of choices to chose from, as far as my residency is concerned. One of the programs that interest me is in Texas. Is it true that doing ones' training from "down south" puts one at a disadvantage in the job hunt especially if you want to find something up north? I discussed this with my advisor and he did accept that their was "some bias". I would really appreciate some input.

Answer:
No this is not true, Someone had given you wrong inputs. You may also look out for an option to work online to make extra cash in your spare time. I am a part time worker doing work online at home, so I would like to share a link where you can make $600-$1500 in a month working at home. The work need to be done is posting/answering a discussion and uploading any photo/image of your interest. For details visit

I will publish few more genuine site in couple of weeks, where you can earn money. You may also write to me at talkofmoney@rediffmail.com (Note: When u are planning for a home based online work, be careful because most of them are scam and ask you to pay initial money. never pay money to any such site.)
No, first off you are not from the South, you are from overseas.. there is some bias coming from both sides.. " New Englanders think if you are from the south and have asouthern accent, you are slow and racist.. Southerns tend to think Yankees are rude and inconsiderate.. but that shouldn;t affect you
