Circuitcity return policy on pc?

Question:
please no spaming and no bad answers. i purchased a pc at circuitcity the a1720n which is intel core 2 duo 6300, 1 gig ram, 320 hd windows vista home premium. i took it home and i ran a benchmark on microsoft.com called windows game advisor. when i ran it crashed the pc. so i installed some free anti virus and spyware and removed norton program because norton sucks. and i still have the same problem the pc reboots to blue screen and restarts when i watch videos, multi task, play runescape or any games while doing somthing. also when i push the dvd open button it does not work. i have to push with a pencil just to open it. now i want to return it and i know they have a 15 percent restock fee for returning. but if i EXCHANGE will i get full refund on exchanging or will they take off 15 percent from that too? also since i removed norton security on there will that void my return? i also bought a backup recovery, which added 60 dollars will they refund that too? i hate losing money.

Answer:
According to their website:

Digital cameras, camcorders, desktop PCs, notebook PCs, monitors, printers, scanners, projectors, PDAs, mobile video, GPS and radar detectors must be returned within 14 days of the sale date, and (except where prohibited by law) are subject to a 15% restocking fee if returned opened or in a non-factory sealed box.

From my experience with CC they are pretty much dead set on their return policy. You opened it so you will have to pay the 15% restocking fee. They will check your machine when you bring it back (set it up with a monitor) so they will probably see that you removed software. That shouldn't void your return though. You should get the backup money too without hassle.

Also.. If you choose to exchange their policy says:

There is no restocking fee for defective product returned in exchange for the exact same product, or for product originally purchased as Open Box

which would mean to me that you wouldn't lose anything if you exchange for the same computer. You should be able to proove that it is defective when they hook it up to recheck.

-----------
Edited Details for your second question:
Their policy doesn't say anything about that, but it does say that you have to exchange for the same product in order to not have the 15% fee (see above). I would imagine to go with something different like a 360/camera then you would have to pay the 15%.
How about this?:

Take the one you have back, and get a new one of the same type. DON'T OPEN IT, and return it in a few days, maybe to another Circuit City, if that's allowable. Now, it makes one wonder if they have provisions for this or not, but if they didn't, it wouldn't bother me ONE BIT to do it! They want to "stick to the rules"? Two can play at that.
