I'm not sure if this is the same thing... but a lot of fraudulent "Extended Warranties" are offered for automobiles out there. Since I bought my new car, I have received mailings telling me that my warranty is soon to run out and if I sign up with them they can cover whatever.
I used to work at a dealership in the service department and I can tell you that most of these are just a scam to separate you from your money.
If you seriously would like to put an extended warranty on your vehicle, Contact a dealer and make sure that it will be a warranty that will be accepted all across the U.S.
