Am I allowed to switch my auto insurance company?
Question:
Answer:
only "penalties" may come from the insurance company themselves for dropping a policy early. the only thing you have to make sure of is that your new company puts the coverage into effect just before the old one is cancelled. if you dont and there is a delay in switching it over resulting in a period of not having coverage, the state will consider it a lapse of insurance and then they WILL fine you. trust me, i have had that happen
♥ ♥ sure you can... and most likely there will some loss not necessarily penalty ♥ ♥
i actually switched insurance companies mid-policy before and i didnt receive any penalties...if someone is offering a better deal, a better protection rate for your car...dont stick with the old...go with the new!
You can switch any time. They just pro-rate the amount of time you've been covered and issue a refund for the rest. Make sure you get your new coverage established before you cancel your old insurance coverage.
yes there is an early cancellation fee (penalty) for some of them, i would check with your current company and find out more information. good luck to you
as long as u have insurance in effect, there's no law saying u cant switch from 1 company to another at any time.
you can switch whenever you want - just call and cancel. they may ask why - i always keep it simple and say i got a better rate on my premium.
i have switched 2 times in the last year. and lowered my rate both times!!
yes you can change your policy but depending on your contract you can incur some early cancellation charges. you just have to review your contract!
Yes you can switch companies. There shouldn't be any penalties. I would compare rates from http://www.surfquotes.com/autoinsurance. to see how much money you will save.
