How do I notify my auto insurance company that I'm cancelling my policy?
Question:
Answer:
Call Progressive, inform them that you are switching insurance carriers, and they will probably ask you to send a copy (possibly by fax) to them. If you don't they will contact the state DMV and say you don't have insurance, which will then cause you to lose registration on your vehicle.
Just call 1-800-Progressive and ask to speak with "policy services" and tell them you will not be renewing your policy. Dont make it more complicated then it is- you dont need to write them anything.
call them and let them know -if there is any paperwork that needs to be done - im sure they will let you know!!
call them and tell them if they give you any flac just stop paying them the'll cancel you quik enough and as long as you have ins. There ain't thing one they can do about it
there should be a number for customer service on your card.call it and let them know that you are not going to be renewing.if there is something else you need to do they will explain it to you but I SERIOUSLY doubt you will need to as you are not cancelling early or anything.
you forward a copy of the new policy and the dates with a brief memo. In my state, I just left Geico. but Geico still send notices to the state saying I have not paid my insurance and therefore in violation of state law. So make sure you keep your state updated as well. One part of the DMV knows, but some parts still sends me bills for the the violation.
Why are you asking this question here? You need to call Progressive and get their requirements for cancelling.
