As comprehensive as DialM4Speed's answer was I had something to add.
I am a licensed agent in 46 US states and unfortuanately there is no good way to answer your question. The reason is that you can't group all high-risk insurance together.
It is going to depend on things like what is on your driving record, what zip code you live in, what you are driving, what kind of coverage you have, your credit score, and a LOT of other things.
In my buiness I have seen "High Risk" insurance run anywhere from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars and there is going be no way to tell without doing some legwork.
What you are going to do is to start out getting quotes from at least three different companies. I would suggest Geico, Esurance, & Progressive insurance. Make sure you are 100% honest about what is on your driving record, that you give all the companies the same information, and that you get a quote on the same exact insurance everywhere you go.
My suggestion for liability insurance is 50/100/50 ($50,000 per person's injuries/ $100,000 per accident for injuries/ $50,000 for property damage) it doesn't run too expensive compared to state minimum coverage and when you shop around for insurance in six months you will get much better prices.
So call around, get 50/100/50 liability coverage, get a bunch of different quotes, take the cheapest one. Then in six months call all the same companies, tell them you have had continuous insurance for 6 months at 50/100/50 and they will give you much better prices.
