Could you still get auto insurance under your name even though you dont have a drivers license?

Question:

Answer:
Yes, you may, you just have to be the owner of the car AND you have to list a person who is a licensed driver who will be driving the car (& I am assuming, driving you around in it but that is not required). Suggestion - pick someone with a clean driving record that you trust, because you are taking on their liability - if they have a major accident, your assets could be on the line - the insurance follows the car, not the driver. Also, purchase high liability limits ($500,000 at least some companies offer $1,000,000). But, if they have a policy on their own vehicle, there insurance could be excess to yours. I just did a policy for an elderly lady like this, she no longer drives and gave up her license & listed all her "helpers" as drivers on the policy since they use HER car to drive her around. I hope this helps.

no, at least not in cali, because they run your driver's license number to make sure you don't have any accidents and stuff.. plus why would you purchase insurance if you don't have a license?? you can get insurance with a driving permit though..
