Husband drives my car.not known to my auto insuance company?
Question:
Answer:
Well, just FYI - you are committing insurance fraud - you are misrepresenting yourself - especially because you are tellin gus you are lying about being married and you can't change your last name! Anyways, if your husband does get pulled over and no ticket is issued, your insurance company will not get notice of it - just be aware, if your husband gets in a car accident, your insurance company will be investigating his residency w/in your household and all that stuff.
i would not worry about it. if you give your husband permission to drive your car, he gets pulled over, no ticket is issued than only he would know about it. even if he gets a ticket it will be on his driving record (he does have a license right? if not he could go to jail if his license is suspended etc) but the thing i would worry about is if he gets into an accident and its his fault, it will get reported back to your insurance and then your insurance premium may go up and this may look bad on your record if he does not have a license.
what can you do but dont worry about it if you dont have a choice right now-he has to drive right...
Well I don't think they will fidn out if he gets pulled over or gets a ticket. Do the cops even ask for insurance? In VA, they don't..they just ask for license & registration. As far as accidents, if he gets into an accident in your car & its his fault, then you can just tell ur insurance company u let him borrow the car...this happens all the time. Your insurance will def. go up if this happens. I suggest you make him pay the unisured motorist fee in your state (most states are like $500) & get his own car...that way u will be safe either way & its legal :o)
Though they may not learn about a ticket - if he has an accident, they may NOT cover it. They will investigate, and they will find out how long you've been married, etc, and can (and hopefully will) deny the claim. It is insurance fraud and it is people like you who make the rates so much higher for everyone else!
WELL, MY SISTER HAD THE SAME PROB. IF HE GETS INTO AN ACCIDENT THERE MIGHT BE COVERAGE PROBLEMS. ON THE MEMORANDUM OF INSURANCE, HAVE YOU DISCLOSED HIM? THE INS. COMPANY HAS TOO MANY CUSTOMERS TO INVESTIGATE ON, WHETHER THEY HAVE GOTTEN MARRIED OR NOT, SO NO THEY WON'T DO RESEARCH ON YOU. HOWEVER, YOU ARE RISKING YOUR CAR NOT GETTING REPAIRED IF DAMAGED (IF HE'S DRIVING AND CAUSES THE DAMAGE). ALSO ONCE THEY SEE HE HAS ACCESS TO THE CAR, THEY WILL FORCE YOU TO ADD HIM TO HOUSEHOLD, OR EXCLUDE HIM. FAILURE TO THAT, WILL CANCEL YOUR POLICY. GOOD LUCK =)
