Since we are driving less due to gas price increases, shouldnt our auto insurance go down?

Question:
well you supply-demand zealots?

Answer:
They will go down in time.
Insurance is all about risk.
Lower the risk you lower your rates but it take longer for that to happen than the price of gas.
well it should be. but that will never happen as they the insurance company's need their billions of dollars that we pay...
gas and accidents aren't the same; when your renewal is up , you change your yearly miles driven per year and they will save you 20 cents but then the insurance company is always making money and so they will probably increase rates so you won't see any savings in your pocket just profit in others
What? Your question is asinine and you are comparing apples and oranges, you apple-orange zealot! Insurance costs are based on the year, make, and model of the car you drive, and the number of miles you drive per year, and the type of driving you do (pleasure, business, etc.). Just because gas prices rise, does not translate into lower auto insurance costs, as one really has nothing to do with the other. Everyone drives a different amount of miles per year along with different model cars, etc., and it cannot be assumed that we now all drive less. You really need to learn a few things and stop assuming that EVERYONE drives the same amount of miles in the same car and for the same purpose. And your mass transit argument is again, an apples and oranges comparison. You seem to need something else to do with your time.
