Geico car insurance down payment?

Question:
Is anyone here doing geico auto insurance monthly payments? I just got my policy and had to put a downpayment. the down payment is part of my policy total right? it's not like an extra fee? I'am pretty sure it's part of my total.

Answer:
Your down payment is always your first month payment.
Whatever you paid initially goes toward your total premium. It's not an additional fee.
YES,IF YOU CHOSE THE payment plan ,they have three types.1-in full2-half now.half in 3 month 3-split payments into 4 months and get the last two free of payments
There is no such thing as a 'down payment' for insurance. There is also no such thing as getting it and paying later. You pay in advance. If you pay monthly that is usually the total of the insurance for the term divided by the months in the term, plus a surcharge perhaps for deferred payments.
Yes it's part of your premium - no it's not an extra fee. BUT they may be charging you interest if you don't pay your premium in full. You should ask them about that. But otherwise your "down payment' is just your first payment towards your premium.
