An economy that "supposedly" has been BOOMING for decades yet every city, county, state and the nation is broke and in debt. No money for roads, schools but monies to bailout corp.'s (airline, s/l's etc)and pay subsidies to oil&gas,energy, framers.
Energy producers spent $850M lobbing Congress to receive in return $26B in subsidies.
Mandatory auto insurance yet your dropped at will.
Publically owned insurance co's that deny every claim so as to pay share holders profits with your premiums.
Forty three percent of Congressional members that has left Congress between 1998 and now have become lobbyist make near or over $1M a year.
You pay into retirement funds, social security, medicare yet they are all in danger.

I live in a prosperous state with a balanced budget that has a Republican Governor and a very healthy county and city.
The U.S. is the only industrialized Nation in the world w/o universal health care for a very good reason. Many people don't want to give up our high quality health care for something that is going to cost us more through taxes anyways and end up lowering the quality.
I do agree that the no-bid/barter for lower prescription drug prices is a shame and doesn't make sense.
Only the voters can change who our elected officials are.
Should politics not be a career? I would like someone trained and knowledgeable about their career.
I think Americans should really begin to grasp the basic concepts or political science.
Career politicians, per se, are not the problem.
Some work hard on our behalf; some don't.
The problem is us. We don't vote in such a way that the problems you enumerate will go away.
"Term Limits" are one idea whose time has come. Limits on how much funding can go to lobbying is another measure to be taken. The American People need to mobilize completely and take their country back. Those are the 1st three words in The Constitution of The United States; "We The People". Did we forget that somewhere along the way since this country was founded?! The audacity of these thieves running this country & its budget (into the ground) is incredible!!
We were smart enough to reject Gore in 2000 & Kerry in 2004.
