For the auto insurance agents, does it make sense to fight a $170 ticket?

Question:
Got a $170 ticket for a minor non-speeding violation. It's going to cost me 3 demerit points. My main choice is to pay over $300 to have a professional negotiate the ticket on my behalf and remove the demerit point cost. Am I really going to pay an additional $130 in additional insurance premium for a single 3 demerit point violation?

Answer:
It really depends on other factors. If this is your first violation/accident in 3yrs or longer than it probably will not effect your premium very much.
However if you have had other violations or accidents in the last 3yrs, than you can expect an increase somewhere in 15% range. I don't know what 15% of your six month premium is, but you can do the math and deceide if it's worth while to fight it.
I know in florida you do not get points for non-moving violations. But can't help outside of that.

In california 3 points is considered a major violation in which case you should fight it because your insurance company will take away your good driver discount and uprate your policy for 3 years until it falls off your record. It might come out cheaper to fight it and get it off rather than pay extra premium for 3 years.
Im not an insurance agent actually, but i just want to share this site http://www.nightbirdssolutions.com... to you as reference for your problem because i think it could help you. Goodluck
