Will my car insurance pay to fix the damage that i caused accidentally?
Question:
Answer:
As long as your dads car has collision coverage on it then it will be covered. Either you or your father will have to pay the $500 deductible to the repair shop.
Your own policy will not cover damages to your fathers car either under collision or liability.

They will pay it. I was driving my husbands car, and somehow managed to hit my own fathers parked car (parked in his own driveway). I seriously messed up part of the bumper over the wheel well. Long storey, but it wasn't totally my fault.
However, if you can afford to fix it without using insurance, your rates will remain much lower. Much!
All the best!
If you have full coverage yes they should cover it but you'll have to pay the first $500 dollars.
That's the reason you have insurance. No matter what happens, I'm pretty sure they'll cover it if you claim it. You'll have to pay the deductible, so check around and see how much it is. If it's way more than $500 to have fixed, turn it in to the insurance company. If it's under $500 dollars, just pay for it yourself. You might get lucky.
If the cost to repair is cheaper than your deductible, you may want to pay to get it repaired yourself as if the insurance company pays, you now have a history of accidents and your premium will likely go up next year. Also we need more info, are you names on your dad's insurance policy?
And pay for a rent car while it takes two weeks or more to fix your dads car. Tell dad you want to drive his newer car... and you will let him have his dammaged car back. That will fly won't it? OK your driving a car you don't own. Free ride is about to come to an end. Sorry you just have to know where your wheels are rolling.
If you lived near me I would do the job, I would even pay 1/2 the deductable for you.
I do this for the fun of playing with insurance jobs.
You get your car back and get a deal on it.
I get paid pretty good from your insurance .
If your father chooses to report it to the insurance company they will pay if he has collision on the vehicle. Choosing to report may result in higher premiums for you father and depending on the cost of repairs may be better off not doing it.
There could be some exceptions to this, some insurance companies require you to state any drivers under 25 who will be driving the car. Sometimes insurance companies look for reasons not to pay.
If you are a member of the household and you don't have your own auto policy, you need to be added to your fathers policy ASAP. This is a chargeable accident on the policy so the rate will increase for doing this. If you can afford to pay for the accident, as long as you didn't do any damage to the median, pay for it yourself. Get an estimate from a good body shop, don't go to the dealer because they charge much higher labor rates than the body shops & sometimes they send the car out to have the work done in a body shop anyway.
Yes, they should cover if you are listed as a part time driver on your dad's policy. If you are excluded, no insurance coverage, no payment. The deductible must always be paid by the policy holder.
