I'm a married man,with a wife who's never been licensed,my credit stinks,can she buy auto insurance?

Question:
I'm the titled owner...would she have to be to buy a policy?

Answer:
You need to be the primary on the policy for 2 reasons.
1.) You own the car. In order to insure the car you must have a financial interest in the car. (ex: I cannot insure someone else's car and collect money if they crash it)
2.) In order to be the primary on an auto policy you must have a valid driver's license.

If your credit stinks, you can still get insurance. They can't deny coverage based soley on your credit. Your premium may be higher, but you can still get insurance.

They way to do this is have yourself as the primary on the policy and list your wife on there as a non-driver. If she does get her license, she can easily be switched over as a driver on policy.
go to any insurance co. online...punch in info and they give u a quote.so easy a cave man can do it!!!!
In most cases, the person buying the insurance is required to own the vehicle. My wife and I both own vehicles and we both had to get our own insurance, even though we are each covered in the others vehicle.
I don't think credit has anything to do with auto insurance pricing. Why would it? They shouldn't care if your credit stinks, they're going to send you the same bill either way.
If you are the titled owner you have to have the insurance in your name.
