I am Mexican, and I normally always use American companies when renting a car inside Mexico: Hertz, Budget...
It's exactly the same as in US. Look through internet, and most likely you will get better prices than once you're in there. Also, you ensure got a good car waiting for you. :D
So, in order to compare price, definitely look into these companies through the internet. From my experience is the best way.
