It's also a mistake to think that buying insurance direct is always cheaper than going through an agent. It all depends in some cases it is; in others an agent will get you the best rate.
I would call an independent agent to get a quote and then compare it with Progressive or Geico and see who's best overall. I can vouch for Progressive (they have great customer service and are very professional if there's a claim) I'm not as familiar with Geico though.
