If you are walking along, and you are hit by a car, and the driver has no insurance, you can sue him. OK, so what if it is an illegal alien, or some other low life who has no liability insurance, and no money of any kind. Just a poor sap who is driving a car illegally? You are screwed. If you own a house, be prepared to sell it. If you own no property, and are low income, the taxpayers will get stuck with your medical bills.
So, maybe you shouldn't walk anywhere. Too many uninsured drivers out there. Especially illegal aliens.

well for one, all drivers need insurance, so if they hit you, and it was there fault, you can sue them, and they would get in alot of trouble for not having auto insurance. and they would have to pay for it

in some states you can file against your auto insurance or your parents if you are a minor
if u get hit by a car you go to a public hospital anyway so there is no bill. unless you want to go to a private then you pay. plus you gotta pay for the ambulance no matter what.
Even at a public hospital you pay. You are responsible for your care ultimately. You may sue the other driver or seek compensation from their insurance or your insurance, but in the end the bills come to you and the hospital doesn't care who's fault it was, only that they get paid. You need a lawyer.
