What is a insurance binder for auto? I have to get one faxed to a car dealer!?

Question:

Answer:
Just get your insurance and tell the agent that the dealer needs a binder. They do this all the time, and probably already know the dealer's fax number.

The binder is legal proof that a policy has been issued. It lists the coverage you have and the policy limits and deductibles. Don't confuse this with the proof of insurance card mandated by most states' laws; it's not the same thing.
an insurance binder is to show the dealer an or bank that you have ins. on that vehicle and your coverage
well duh it binds you and the insurance
