What coverage do I need when I purchase auto insurance for a 2001 Daewoo?

Question:

Answer:
it depends on your situation. There are many carriers that do not even insure Daewoo anymore. if there is a loan on it than you are required to have Comp/Col or known as "Full Coverage". Other than that it is your desire and situation. bare minimum i ever suggest is 25/50/25 Liability $5,000 Medical and 25/50/3.5 Uninsured Motorist. There are many different ways but it will depend on your record and how much or little coverage you can purchase to keep yourself in budget
Full coverage if you want everything covered, liability if just want coverage in case a wreck is your fault
Is it paid for or being financed? Under 25? Other drivers?

More info, or check with your agent.
Ask your local car insurance companies. The car insurance company will tell you what the minimum coverage needs to be. If you don't want to pay anything when you get in a car accident besides the deductibe, get full coverage. Your car is not that expensive, insurance shouldn't be expensive.
You need liability insurance and comp and collition. In case of an accident, theft, vandalisim etc, your car would be taken care off. Do not get towing and all that stuff cause that would be extra for the companies, besides is a new car.
dont forget to get a service warranty and if the car has over 45,000 miles make sure the timing belt has been replaced it is suposed to be done at 60,000 on those vehicles but i have seen them break at 40,000 causing major engine damage . the valves get stuck open and the pistons ram into the valves damaging the cylinder head . have seen this happen many many times on daewoo .
Go to the Yellow pages, and under Insurance select and call one of the many Independant Agents listed. Make arrangements to meet with him to provide the info he'll need to search the companies that he is listed with to find the best possible quote for you.
Don't just call for a quote, plan to meet with him. We agents don't like phone quotes, where the potential customer has a dozen agents working up quotes and the "lowball" quote gets the business even if the agent has cut corners to arrive at a "lowball figure".
You need to have coverages explained to you, and be involved in the decision making process as to what might fit your individual situation.
